Danish design is globally renowned for its simplicity, functionality and longevity. It first became popular in the 1940s and 1950s, the so-called ‘Golden Age of Danish Design’. This is the story of one of the few pioneering women who put pen to paper and, despite the enormous consequences it had for her, created designs that are still popular today. Combining humanist thinking with an almost scientific methodology, she analysed her way into all her designs; working, reworking, testing. Her name was Grethe Meyer.
